MALABO – Equatorial Guinea is making significant strides in its national development agenda with a renewed focus on expanding affordable housing options for its citizens. Central to this ambitious plan is a strengthened partnership with Egypt’s “Arab Contractors,” a leading construction firm renowned for its expertise in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects across Africa.
The collaboration was solidified during a recent meeting between Clemente Ferreiro Villarino, Equatorial Guinea’s Minister of State for Public Works and Urban Planning, and Sherif El-Sherbiny, Egypt’s Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities. The agreement will see “Arab Contractors” undertake key housing projects as part of Equatorial Guinea’s national plan to construct 100,000 new homes.
Minister Villarino emphasized the importance of these projects in achieving the country’s sustainable development goals. “Providing access to quality housing is a top priority for the government of Equatorial Guinea,” said Villarino. “Our partnership with ‘Arab Contractors’ is crucial in realising this vision, bringing their expertise and experience to bear on our national housing strategy.”
He noted the long-standing relationship between his country and “Arab Contractors,” highlighting the firm’s consistent delivery of high-quality infrastructure projects in the country. The projects will be executed under the direct oversight of the Egyptian Ministry of Housing, reinforcing the commitment to excellence and ensuring alignment with Equatorial Guinea’s development objectives.
“This collaboration underscores our commitment to providing our citizens with modern, sustainable, and affordable housing options,” Villarino added. The new developments are expected to create numerous jobs for local communities and stimulate economic growth within the construction sector.
