Egypt has voiced strong support for the recently signed Doha Declaration, calling it a meaningful step toward achieving long-term peace and stability in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, Egypt welcomed the outcomes of the agreement, expressing optimism that the deal will help ease the humanitarian crisis and enhance living conditions in the conflict-ridden central African country.

The ministry emphasized Egypt’s ongoing commitment to backing regional peacebuilding efforts, particularly those that promote African-led solutions to enduring conflicts. It also reiterated the country’s firm stance on respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all African nations—principles it considers essential for sustainable peace.

The Doha Declaration comes as part of intensified diplomatic efforts to resolve the prolonged violence in eastern DRC, a region plagued by armed militias, ethnic tensions, and widespread displacement. The Egyptian government hopes the declaration will serve as a foundation for broader reconciliation and reconstruction across the country.

Egypt, which has positioned itself as a regional partner in conflict resolution, continues to advocate for international cooperation to address the root causes of instability in Africa while promoting inclusive dialogue and political will among all stakeholders.
