Egypt is set to host a series of high-level African gatherings in New Alamein from October 2 to 4, bringing together African leaders, ministers, senior officials and representatives of the private and financial sectors to advance economic integration and sustainable development across the continent.
The programme will include the Alamein Africa Forum, a summit of the founding countries of the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD), and the eighth African Union Mid-Year Coordination Meeting.
The events are expected to provide a platform for African leaders and policymakers to discuss priorities related to continental economic integration, investment, development and cooperation.
The gatherings will also bring together representatives of the private sector and financial and investment institutions, highlighting the role of cross-border investment and public-private partnerships in supporting Africa’s development objectives.
The meetings come as African countries continue efforts to strengthen economic ties and advance the implementation of continental integration initiatives, including the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
The New Alamein events are also expected to provide an opportunity to coordinate African positions on development priorities and strengthen cooperation among governments, regional institutions, investors and the private sector.
Through hosting the high-level gatherings, Egypt is seeking to support broader African efforts to promote economic integration, mobilize investment and advance sustainable development across the continent.
