Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama has called on citizens to unite in rebuilding the nation, emphasizing that collective action is essential for overcoming economic challenges and achieving national renewal.
In his first State of the Nation Address since returning to office, Mahama acknowledged the severity of the economic crisis, describing Ghana as a “crime scene” due to past mismanagement. However, he assured Ghanaians that the country’s difficulties are not insurmountable, framing them as an opportunity for innovation and growth.
“There is strength in unity. Ghana’s greatest asset is its people—especially its young and energetic youth. If we stand together, we can harness the power of collective action to overcome economic and social challenges,” Mahama stated.
He reaffirmed his commitment to leading a recovery effort that prioritizes inclusivity, calling on all citizens—regardless of political affiliation—to contribute to the rebuilding process. The president pledged to ensure that no one is left behind in creating a prosperous and resilient Ghana.
