Dozens of Tunisians rallied outside the U.S. Embassy in Tunis on Saturday to protest Israeli military operations in Gaza and Syria, as well as U.S. and U.K. airstrikes on Yemen.
Chanting slogans such as “Why are our brothers in Gaza being killed?” and “No U.S. embassy on Tunisian soil,” demonstrators condemned what they described as Western aggression in the region.
Protesters demanded the expulsion of U.S. Ambassador Joey Hood and the immediate closure of the embassy. They also called for the lifting of the blockade on Gaza and the opening of all border crossings.
The protest reflects growing anger across North Africa over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and rising civilian casualties in ongoing regional conflicts.
