Sudanese Transitional Sovereignty Council Chairman Gen. Abdel Fattah al-Burhan has reaffirmed Sudan’s strong support for the Egyptian-Arab initiative aimed at reconstructing Gaza while ensuring that its residents are not forcibly displaced. Speaking at the emergency Arab summit in Cairo, Burhan emphasized Sudan’s commitment to upholding Palestinian rights and preventing any attempts to alter Gaza’s demographics through forced removals.
“We gather here today to reaffirm the unified Arab stance against any plans that seek to displace the Palestinian people from their land,” Burhan stated. He commended the diplomatic efforts led by Egypt and other Arab nations to mobilize international support for Gaza’s reconstruction, urging continued engagement at both regional and global levels to secure humanitarian aid and long-term stability for Palestinians.
The Sudanese leader also underscored the urgent need for a sustained ceasefire and the full implementation of its terms to ease the suffering of the Palestinian people. He stressed that providing immediate humanitarian relief and ensuring the reconstruction of vital infrastructure are essential steps toward restoring normalcy in Gaza.
“Our full support goes to the Egyptian-Arab initiative, which prioritizes the reconstruction of Gaza without displacing its residents. This effort strengthens the resilience of the Palestinian people and reinforces their right to remain on their land,” Burhan affirmed.
He further called on the international community to take decisive action against violations of Palestinian rights and to support diplomatic initiatives that seek to establish lasting peace in the region.
