A fierce battle unfolded in the Anbasel Mountains of Ethiopia’s Amhara Region, South Wollo Zone, resulting in a significant victory for the Fano militia. According to reports, over 50 Ethiopian National Defense Forces (ENDF) were captured, along with substantial weaponry, including 2 snipers, 2 Bren guns, and more than 50 Kalashnikov rifles.
The battle, which commenced yesterday, aimed to disrupt a high-level meeting of group’s senior leaders. However, the operation failed, and Fano successfully repelled the attack, gaining a major victory in the process.
Tragically, the conflict also involved five drone attacks, which resulted in the deaths of eight innocent civilians, including a mother and child, who were killed in their homes.
Fano rebellion—a powerful Amhara-led resistance movement with deep historical roots. The group, which has evolved from a traditional defense force into a modern insurgent group, is challenging the Ethiopian government and transforming the Horn of Africa’s political and military landscape.
