Eritrea President Isaias Afwerki departed for Egypt early this morning for a working visit at the invitation of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
During his visit, President Afwerki is scheduled to participate in a Summit of Heads of State on the sidelines of Alamein-Africa Forum focused on collective security, stability, and partnership.
According to Yemane G. Meskel, Minister of Information, the upcoming summit represents a continuation of periodic forums addressing issues concerning the wider neighbourhood, encompassing the Red Sea region, the Gulf of Aden, the Arabian Gulf, and the Nile Basin.
Alongside the broader summit agenda, President Afwerki and President Sisi are slated to hold discussions aimed at further enhancing bilateral ties between Eritrea and Egypt.
