Egypt is set to present its detailed, multi-phase plan for the reconstruction of Gaza at the emergency Arab League summit on Palestine, scheduled to take place in Cairo on March 4, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty announced on Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference, Abdelatty confirmed that preparations for the initiative have been finalized, with Egypt poised to formally introduce the proposal to Arab foreign ministers and leaders. He emphasized that the plan is designed to ensure the long-term stability of Gaza and safeguard the right of Palestinians to remain on their land.
The Egyptian foreign minister underscored that the reconstruction strategy has been developed in close coordination with Palestinian authorities, regional partners, and the international community to create a sustainable and effective framework for rebuilding the war-torn enclave. The initiative will address critical infrastructure needs, humanitarian aid, and economic revitalization efforts to support Gaza’s long-term recovery.
Abdelatty also clarified that Egypt will not present the plan to any external stakeholders until it has been thoroughly reviewed and approved by Arab League member states, reaffirming Cairo’s commitment to an Arab-led approach to Palestinian reconstruction and sovereignty.
