Egypt and Nambia are stepping up cooperation in the healthcare sector after Egypt hosted a Namibian delegation to showcase its digital health experience, as the two countries seek to expand collaboration on healthcare technology, digital transformation and capacity building.

The visit, organized by Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population in coordination with the Foreign Ministry’s African Affairs Department, focused on sharing Egypt’s experience in deploying digital technologies to improve healthcare services and strengthen health system management.

The Namibian delegation toured the ministry’s Crisis Management Center in the New Administrative Capital, where officials demonstrated digital platforms used to support decision-making, emergency response and the monitoring of healthcare services.

The delegation also visited the New Capital Hospital to review its medical services and digital applications designed to improve patient care and hospital operations.

Health Ministry spokesperson Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said the delegation commended Egypt’s progress in digital health, describing its experience as a leading model in Africa for integrating modern technology into healthcare services.

The delegation was accompanied by officials from the ministry’s International Health Relations and Digital Transformation departments.

The visit comes as African countries accelerate efforts to digitize their healthcare systems to improve access to medical services, strengthen disease surveillance and enhance emergency preparedness.
